Police Operation in Ankara: CHP Headquarters Stormed
In the Turkish capital Ankara, police stormed the headquarters of the largest opposition party CHP on Sunday.
Hundreds of riot police officers entered the building using tear gas after party members blocked the entrance.
The ousted party leader Özgür Özel was forced to leave the party headquarters and announced that his party would be in the streets or on the squares.
The police operation followed the ousting of Özel by a court in Ankara, which declared the CHP party leadership election in 2023 invalid.
Thousands of people had already demonstrated against the ousting of Özel.
