Police Raid in Ankara: CHP Office Stormed
In the Turkish capital Ankara, police stormed the offices of the largest opposition party CHP.
The ousted party chairman Özgür Özel had taken refuge in the party headquarters.
After the use of tear gas and rubber bullets, the police broke through barricades set up by CHP party members.
The former party leader left the building under applause from his supporters and marched to the parliament building, surrounded by CHP MPs and supporters.
The evacuation of the party headquarters was ordered after a court declared Özel's election as party chairman invalid and reinstated his predecessor Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as party leader.
