On Sunday 24 May, firefighters in Rennes were called to a child in cardiac arrest on Dupont des Loges street.

Rescuers attempted medical resuscitation, but despite their efforts, the victim was declared deceased.

The prosecutor of the Republic attended the scene and a significant police operation was put in place.

Ten firefighters with four rescue vehicles intervened to respond to the emergency.
