Romuald Wadagni was officially sworn in as head of state of Benin on 24 May.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Beninese political figures and foreign delegations.

The new president took an oath before the Constitutional Court and promised to serve Benin with integrity and courage.

He also guaranteed the rule of law and fundamental freedoms.

Romuald Wadagni promised economic growth that will benefit every Beninese family and stated that Benin will remain firm against terrorism.
