Primordial Stars: New Discoveries with the James Webb Space Telescope
The James Webb Space Telescope has made a surprising discovery observing the primordial universe.
Among the small red luminous points observed, some could be supernovae born from the first stars formed in the universe or from ultra-cold brown dwarfs.
These primordial stars could have reached masses dozens or hundreds of times greater than that of the Sun, burning at extreme temperatures.
Advanced telescopes like the James Webb are able to reach that phase of the primordial universe in which the first stars were active, allowing astronomers to understand how to recognize their traces.
The discovery could be a key to understanding the formation of stars and the universe itself.
