The annual Sudeten German Day took place in Brno, not in Bavaria.

The event was organized by 'Meeting Brno', a multi-genre cultural festival focusing on open dialogue and mutual understanding.

Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt praised the initiative and emphasized that it's not about settling scores, but about European friendship as a bulwark against any new nationalism.

Despite protests from Czech lawmakers, the atmosphere was more relaxed than expected.
