Bretteville-sur-Laize: An Old Factory Becomes a Meeting Place
The commune of Bretteville-sur-Laize (Calvados) has launched a 3 million euros rehabilitation project for an old factory.
The goal is to create a unique hybrid third place, reinventing the notion of Norman reurbanity.
The site, part of the local heritage, housed a 500 m² large hall and lived an industrial history.
The project foresees a mix of uses with a commercial pole on the ground floor, a short circuit grocery store and a restaurant working with local producers.
The idea is to create a link between the historic center and the new neighborhoods pushing up the hills.
